Find your nearest Pi Jam, Hackspace or Makerspace and find out how to join, and try going to a session to see if you like it
Find a engineer or maker that you like and follow them online (Twitter, Instagram, or their own blog)
Learn the main component symbols used in circuit diagrams
Create a basic circuit diagram (e.g. battery, led and a switch), after drawing it out on paper or in a schematic editor create the circuit on breadboard.
